According to Gîtes de France the current growth within this well known registry is about 800 new addresses for each year for Chambre d’Hôte (Bed & Breakfast) accommodations only. Most of them offer some sort of Table d’Hôte.
It can be safely assumed the growth for Tables d’Hôtes is pretty much the same, if not more. Also there are many Chambre d’Hôtes not registrered at Gîtes de France.

A Table d’Hôte has a special status regarding food & health regulations (HACCP). The strict regulations normally enforced on restaurants do not apply for a Table d’Hôte. However any movement in such direction is an instant threat for any form of Table d’Hôte.
